Overview

My web site design services cover the full scope of project development; from planning through regular maintenance. A site design project may be contracted in full (all aspects of the complete project) or you may contract my services for specific project tasks. While I do offer full service site design, I do not offer web hosting services. The list below describes the process involved in a complete design project.

Planning - First we discuss what you envision for your web presence; I will research your industry and follow up with any additional concepts which may add to the value of the proposed site.  A cost analysis will be generated to include estimates of recurring expenses (ex. web hosting, site promotion, and maintenance) and "one-time" expenses (site development). The planning phase involves discovery of what the site should do and what technology should be incorporated into the design.

Graphics - The graphic design phase involves creating any specialized logos, artwork, and graphical components to be included in the site design. In addition, any pre-existing images and photographs (ex. images from catalogs, brochures, letterhead logos, etc.) will be optimized for web presentation.

Site Design - Involves the actual creation of the site. Prior to release of the completed site a "pre-production" model will be presented for your testing and approval.

Maintenance - Every web site requires periodic changes to the content or adjustment to the design to include new features. These updates may be contracted to myself or an outside party at your discretion. In addition, I will accept maintenance contracts for any pre-existing sites.

Upgrades - As your on-line business expands you may want to increase the effectiveness of a site by including advanced technology such as e-commerce capability or extranet applications. Any complete upgrade of an existing web site is considered a new site and follows the above process; however the planning phase should be considerably shorter.
